•  Andalusia consists of about 90,000 km2 of Spanish territory. It is the largest single region and bigger than both Belgium and Holland.

•  Spain has 4,964 km of coastline.

•  The population of Spain is approximately 45 million: the 6th largest in Europe.

•  There are 79 people per /km².

•  The capital City of Spain (Madrid) is the highest capital city in Europe. Madrid is 667 meters above sea level. Madrid is also situated precisely in the centre of Spain.

•  There are several languages spoken in Spain: Castilian Spanish (official) 74%, Catalan 17%, Galician 7%, and Basque 2%.

•  A knowledge of Spanish will enrich a trip to Spain.

•  The life expectancy of an average male in Spain is 76.18 years and for a female 83.08 years.

•  Spain produces around 44% of the olive oil consumed on Earth: Spain produces double the amount produced in Italy and four times the amount produced in Greece. One region, Jaén is the super-producer of olive oil: approximately 25% of Spain's output, almost 10% of the world's olive oil.

•  There are 344.000 bars, 15 % of them in Andalucia, a bigger number than other UE countries like France, Germany or the United Kingdom.

•  The people of Spain are not used to big tipping but if one is satisfied with the food one can leave few coins which will be appreciated.

• Spaniards are in friendly and tolerant towards foreign visitors.
